About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Food & Beverage Manager to join Caption by Hyatt Sydney and play a key role in the continued growth and success of Talk Shop and Grab & Go.

Working closely with the Head Chef you will help lead a vibrant, welcoming, and community-driven space that guests and locals genuinely want to spend time in.

This role requires a proactive, energetic, and hands-on leader who thrives on guest interaction, team engagement, operational excellence, and creating memorable, high energy experiences. You’ll lead from the floor, collaborate closely with Sales & Marketing, and Culinary teams and play an active role in developing activations, partnerships, and experiences that increase guest engagement, grow venue awareness, fill the space, and drive revenue growth.

You’ll also help champion Caption by Hyatt’s “Guest Led, Host Supported” service philosophy, ensuring the team delivers genuine, unscripted, and emotionally engaging hospitality experiences.

In addition, you’ll support and be responsible for strong operational discipline across hygiene, food safety, RSA compliance, and workplace safety, helping create a safe, well-run, and high-performing environment for both guests and colleagues.

Your responsibilities Include but not limited to:

• Deliver exceptional guest experiences aligned with Caption by Hyatt’s “Guest Led, Host Supported” philosophy.

• Lead from the floor with energy and authenticity, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.

• Drive activations, events, partnerships, and venue programming that drive engagement and revenue.

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and culinary teams to elevate the guest experience and grow venue awareness.

• Coach, develop, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Support rostering, labour management, payroll, stock control, and departmental financial performance.

• Take shared ownership with the Head Chef for hygiene, HACCP, food safety, RSA compliance, and workplace safety standards.

• Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, organisation, and operational readiness.

• Identify opportunities to improve guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business performance.

What You Will Bring to the Role

• Previous leadership experience within Food & Beverage operations in a lifestyle hospitality environment.

• A hands-on and engaging leadership style with the ability to inspire and develop teams.

• A genuine passion for guest experience, hospitality, and community connection.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

• A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to identify opportunities to drive revenue and improve performance.

• Creativity, initiative, and confidence contributing ideas, activations, and experiences that bring energy to the space.

• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and operational skills.

• Knowledge of RSA, HACCP, food safety, and workplace health & safety practices.
